Threading a link between folk tales from the past to tell stories of the present.

As a multi-disciplinary creative, Amit aims to understand and explore through photography, writing and film, the entanglement of folklore with human emotion, imagination and psychology.

Whilst long being immersed in the world of visual arts, Amit ultimately found his true creative calling through a deep exploration into his own Indian Punjabi heritage and Sikh faith. Guided by a desire to deepen his understanding of his own identity, amit keeps an intrigue to explore and unveil hidden and forgotten aspects of heritage.

Visually and conceptually dark and harrowing at times, and addressing a variety of social issues and themes within his work, Amit unveils dreamlike stories and scenes infused with mystery, heart and honesty.

Importantly, Amit aims to bridge a gap between people and their ancestry. As a Punjabi Sikhi growing up and living in London, Amit is interested in the navigation of cultural identity within the diaspora, and how the role of remembering and reimagining folktale can be central within that.

As well as exploring themes related to his own culture and faith, Amit also visually examines elements of nature and reflections of the human experience and emotion within this.

Throughout all of his work, Amit attempts to provoke individual questioning and contemplation within the viewer and reader as he lifts a veil on various themes and concepts.
